Frequently asked questions

Do QR codes expire?

A QR code that holds a link or text does not expire. It keeps working as long as the link it points to stays online.

How do I check that the code works?

Scan it with your phone camera or a scanner app before printing it, and leave some white space around it.

How the QR Code Generator works

Type or paste any text or web address and press Generate QR Code. The tool creates a 220 × 220 pixel QR code in black on white that you can download as an image. The code is created in your browser, and what you enter is not sent to a server.

It uses the highest error-correction level (H), so the code can still be read even if a part of it is damaged or covered, for example when a logo is placed in the middle.

Worked examples

You can encode many things as plain text:

Phones that scan these formats will offer to open the link, dial the number, write the email or join the network.

More questions about the QR Code Generator

Does the QR code expire?

No. A static QR code simply stores the text you entered, so it works for as long as the content, such as the website, exists.

Can I put a logo inside the code?

You can edit the downloaded image, and the high error correction helps, but always test it afterwards.

Is it free for commercial use?

ToolMitra does not charge for it. Check any terms on the content you encode.

What is the maximum length of text?

Longer text produces a denser code that is harder to scan. Keep it short for best results.
