Encode text into Base64 or decode Base64 text quickly and easily.
Base64 turns text or binary data into a plain ASCII string that is safe to put in URLs, JSON, emails and configuration files. This tool encodes normal text into Base64 and decodes Base64 back into readable text, right in your browser. Developers often use it when working with APIs, tokens and data URIs.
No. Base64 is only an encoding. Anyone can decode it, so never use it to hide passwords or secrets.
The input is probably not valid Base64. Check for missing characters, extra spaces or a missing padding sign (=).
Base64 is a way to represent binary or text data using only 64 safe characters (A–Z, a–z, 0–9, + and /). It takes 3 bytes of input and turns them into 4 characters, so the encoded text is about 33% longer. An equals sign (=) at the end is padding.
This tool encodes text to Base64 and decodes it back. It handles UTF-8, so characters from languages such as Hindi are encoded correctly.
Base64 is not encryption. Anyone can decode it, so never use it to hide passwords or private data.
Encode: "Hello" becomes SGVsbG8=. "ToolMitra" becomes VG9vbE1pdHJh.
Decode: Paste SGVsbG8= and press Decode to get "Hello" back.
No. It only changes how the data is written. Use proper encryption if you need secrecy.
Every 3 bytes become 4 characters, which increases the size by about one third.
The input may not be valid Base64. Remove spaces and line breaks, and check the padding.
This tool is for text. Images need a file-based encoder.
